Chris Casuccio

writing about the war

my father, heading for the safety of a bench, forbade me to ever speak of his stroke to anyone.
felt there were people waiting for him to weaken and that this was the time they had been anticipating.
dry hair. fifty pounds overweight. alone in pennsylvania.
sad and paranoid. approaching the end of a lifetime of self delusion.
asked if I was writing about the war.
I told him I would be.

Chris Casuccio was born and raised in Thornhill, Ontario.  After spending the past three years writing in Europe, Chris is now living in a small apartment on Dovercourt Road finishing his first collection of poetry three weeks with the sister.  Chris has been published in Grain, Prairie Journal, VOiCE, Indefinite Space, and Jones Av.
